Expats from Germany, Austria, Russia and Thailand visited a 300-year-old farmers market in Shenyang, Liaoning province, on Sunday ahead of the Spring Festival holiday.
The market, located in the city's Shenbei district, is popular among residents and impressed the foreigners.
"Its culture is so diverse that you can feel the impulse of modern and traditional China at the same time," said Erich Kaiserseder, who moved to China from Austria five years ago.
"Downtown, you can find German, Korean and Japanese food. This makes the city a perfect destination for tourists all over the world."
