Co-initiated by famous tenor Dai Yuqiang, a music education program, Bai Qian Wan Yin Yue Ren, or hundreds of thousands of musicians, has concluded with 188 award-winning young singers selected from about 60,000 candidates. They shared the 2.88 million yuan ($418,000) prize fund.

The program, launched in 2022, took about five months to finish. It aimed to train 1,000 music teachers for 100 Chinese counties. It also supports musicians from rural China.

In 2023, 22 winners will go to 100 Chinese counties to offer music lessons to music lovers of rural China.

A gala was held in Beijing on Dec 18 to mark the first ceremony of the music education program.
