A visit with destiny changes fortunes
The story of Li Lianhuan's family, their optimistic attitude towards life and unity as a family may give you the courage during tough times.
A decade ago, Li Lianhuan's family was nearly destroyed after a car accident left her father paralyzed. The family lost its main source of income and Li's mother bore the burden of pulling the whole family through that rough time, for example, selling fruits and street snacks, and running a restaurant. Things were getting better for the family and, in 2017, their lives transformed.
"President Xi Jinping recognized my family's efforts and showed other villagers how we continued to improve," said Li Lianhuan. Xi's encouragement to Li finally gave her the courage to pursue her graduate studies.
