Xi stresses improving income distribution system

BEIJING -- China will improve the system of income distribution, keeping distribution according to work as the mainstay with multiple forms of distribution existing alongside it, Xi Jinping said on Sunday.
"We will ensure more pay for more work and encourage people to achieve prosperity through hard work," Xi said in a report at the opening session of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
"We will promote equality of opportunity, increase the incomes of low-income earners, and expand the size of the middle-income group," he said.
Income distribution and the means of accumulating wealth will be kept well-regulated, according to Xi.
