From north to south, the Gaoligong Mountains extend over 600 kilometers, with Gawagapu at an altitude of 5,128 meters standing as the highest peak, while the lowest is about 760 meters.

Every year between 2015 and 2020, Wang Bin, a researcher with the Gaoligong National Nature Reserve, has visited the observation point in the depth of the mountains and used his cameras to record the life of endangered birds.
