Flights canceled in Guangzhou after workers test positive for coronavirus
All domestic flights to and from the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport before noon on Thursday have been canceled and a portion of the flights will be carried out in the afternoon after some workers at the airport tested abnormally against the coronavirus on Wednesday.
The airport made the announcement early on Thursday without providing the details of the workers in question.
A news conference on epidemic control in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
An aviation mobile phone app indicated about 90 percent of the flights to and from the airport had been canceled by Thursday morning, including those that had been previously canceled.
The Airport South metro station was closed on Thursday morning. Mass nucleic acid testing was carried out in districts of Yuexiu, Baiyun and Huadu in Guangzhou on Thursday.
