China's Chen to face compatriot He at All England Badminton Open
LONDON - China's Olympic champion Chen Yufei is to face compatriot He Bingjiao in the women's singles quarterfinals at the All England Badminton Open after winning her second round tie on Thursday.
Third seed Chen, who enjoyed a walkover in the first round, only needed 28 minutes to see off Denmark's Julie Jakobsen 21-10, 21-12.
Chen will face He after the eighth seed came from behind to beat Spain's Clara Azurmendi 16-21, 21-6, 21-9.
Chen and He took each other on in the final of the Germany Open last Sunday, with He winning in straight games.
In the men's singles, Indian prodigy Lakshya Sen knocked out third seed Anders Antonsen of Denmark 21-16, 21-18.
"I had a plan and in the first game it was just about getting the shuttle back and keeping steady," said 20-year-old Sen. "I tried to take my chances and go for the kill in the second game."
Both Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen and Japan's second seed Kento Momota also reached the quarterfinals.
