The brand also released a logo for the celebration year, designed by eminent artist Han Meilin. Inspired by the oracle-bone inscriptions, the earliest form of writing found in China, the logo symbolizes Rongbao Zhai's devotion to collecting and preserving Chinese arts and crafts, and conveys a wish for it to continue in the future with its spirit.

The company's executive director Zhao Dong says: "Rongbao Zhai has cultivated generations of noted figures in appreciating and authenticating antiques. Throughout the years, we have assembled a collection of significant cultural and artistic value."

The expertise has allowed the brand to win the hearts of many leading artists over time, such as Huang Yongyu. The 98-year-old artist visited the company earlier this month.

Huang stayed at Rongbao Zhai for two months in 1953, studying woodblock printing techniques from its artisans, and has since then been on good terms with the company.

During his recent visit, Huang enjoyed a detailed view of Huashan Mountain Engulfed by Clouds, a magnificent landscape painting by Zhang in the company's collection.

Zhao says that as a platform for international exchanges, the company also received visiting foreign heads of state and other important figures. He says the brand is thereafter reputed for being "a second home for painters and calligraphers" and "a national gallery of art and culture".
