CE to give talk on Basic Law on Nov 25
HONG KONG - Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor will give a talk on the Basic Law at an online course held by the Education Bureau on Nov 25.
The 90-minute course aims to help the city's teachers better grasp the constitutional relationship between the country and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the chief executive's constitutional status, powers and functions and the SAR's political system, according to the bureau.
Lam's talk will take up half of the course, and there will also be a 30-minute session for participants to ask questions.
Up to 1,500 people can register for the course virtually, the bureau said.
In the Policy Address delivered on Oct 6, Lam highlighted the importance of strengthening education on the Constitution and the Basic Law, saying she had proposed to the Secretary for Education that she give a class personally to teachers on the relevant issues.
