Nation builds 819,000 5G base stations

China has built 819,000 5G base stations, accounting for about 70 percent of the world's total, the nation's top industry regulator said on Monday. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said China now has 280 million 5G smartphone users, or more than 80 percent of global 5G mobile subscribers. The results came just two years after China commercialized 5G technologies in 2019.

Lockup shares worth $13b ready for trading

Lockup shares worth 83.75 billion yuan ($13 billion) will become eligible for trade this week on the two stock exchanges in Shanghai and Shenzhen, according to financial information provider cls.cn.
