Gradually, more students began to ask for Yao's help as a supervisor.
Every time Yao received photos, he would send the students some words of encouragement.
"I am not a well-educated person, so I have to search for quotes from books, TV programs and social platforms," he said.
Since 2010, he began to collect students' information after every year's Spring Festival holiday and help them find available seats in classrooms for self-study.
"I am happy to see many students insist on studying via their daily photo report in the groups," he said. So far, more than 10,000 students have received help from Yao. Many expressed their deepest thanks, and shared their delight in receiving admission letters with him.
