China has nearly 2,400 tech schools
BEIJING - China had 2,379 tech schools and colleges with 3.41 million students in total as of the end of 2018, official figures have shown.
A total of 4.2 million people received training from tech schools and colleges in 2018 through programs that are open to the public, according to a statistical report on China's human resources and social security in 2018 issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
There were 2,298 centers for employment training and 21,565 private-run training organizations as of the end of last year, the data showed.
The various vocational training programs offered in 2018 across the country covered more than 16 million people, including 8.3 million farmer-turned migrant workers and 2.1 million registered urban unemployed.
