The 2019 China Bookstore Conference was held in Beijing on Jan 8, during which 16 bookstores were named "the most beautiful bookstores in China", following a public vote.

Among the most beautiful bookstores, and in no particular order, are:

1. Banshan Books in Changzhou, East China's Jiangsu province
2. Qujiang Bookstore in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province
3. New City Bookstore in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality
4. Zhongshuge Bookstore (Xuhui Store) in East China's Shanghai municipality
5. Fuguang Bookstore (Yangjiang Store) in Guangzhou, South China's Guangdong province
