In the past ten years, 158 artists from 22 Arab countries were invited to China and created about 475 works based on their engagement with the country and its culture.

The workshop has been held in a series of cities in China, including Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui autonomous region and Urumqi in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
