Chongqing kindergarten teacher accused of child abuse
Chongqing's police and education authorities are investigating allegations that a kindergarten teacher abused children in Nan'an district, The Paper reported on Monday.
The teacher, identified only as Lin, asked children to slap themselves and others in the face, according to parents.
A parent with a 4-year-old child in Lin's class said the teacher has a class of more than 30 children, and parents became concerned after noticing their children's mouths were red and swollen.
Parents asked the kindergarten for an explanation and demanded to see the school's surveillance videos, only to find they had all been deleted. Zhang said Lin had admitted her abusive behavior.
According to the kindergarten, police and the local education authority have stepped in, and Lin is under investigation.
