BANGKOK -- A group of armed men reportedly having stationed on a high building, which is located nearby the main rally site, have targeted innocent people, Col. Sansern Kaewkamnerd, spokesman of Centre for the Resolution of Emergency Situation (CRES) warned on Monday night.

The group consisting of about five to ten armed men, who dress like soldiers, have also targeted security personnel, Col. Sansern said.

Hence, the CRES has suggested the general public to avoid entering the dangerous zones, which are located nearby the main anti-government rally site, the CRES spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has offered three schools as shelters for people affected by the violent clashes between the protesters and troops, the Nation newspaper's website reported earlier.

The three schools are Wichuthit, which can house 500 people, Wichakorn, which can house some 300 people, and Sam Sen Nok, which can house 500 people.

The intense political situation in capital Bangkok has continued as troops' operations have continued to besiege the main rally site Rajprasong area, aiming to pressure the anti-government protesters to end their over-two-month long rally.
